Closed Issue: InvalidManifestException [4002]

Hi,

During the installation, I received the following error below. I can confirm that the file listed does not contain an addIn element (I have attached it here).

Do you know if the file really is invalid or if there might be something about my environment that is causing a conflict?

After installing the Team Explorer 2010 RC version of BOWIE, I get the following exception when I try to select a project (click on the 'no project selected' button within an existing email.

Type Initializer for Outlook.WorkItems.Extension.Managers.FavoritesTeamProjectManager threw an exception.

The stack trace is as follows.

Outlook.WorkItems.Extension.Managers.FavoritesTeamProjectManager.GetFavoritesProjects()
Outlook.WorkItems.Extension.Controls.TeamTreeView.InitTreeView()

Installed TFS Team Explorer 2010.
Installed Bowie 2010 with not errors.
AddIn Tab appears and contains Team item. Manage team project allows the TFS server to be selected and areas and iterations to be managed.
However the Team menu in the Add in tab only contains the 'Manage my team projects' and 'About Bowie' option. There are no other menu items available to manage workitems, reports or anything else.

I have tried a clean install and nothing else appears.

I want to insert a report in my mail, when I select a report in reporting list, I got this error :

when creating work item from email I cannot set description field from any of the message fields. It's always empty. I'm using Outlook 2010.
Anyway the addin looks great and really usefull.

Disregard this. We are using a custom field for showing description.

Hi,
In order to be really useful (for our company), Bowie needs to be able to (at least) remember the last TFS project selected, WI type and the associations chosen for the last WI creation. I may have misunderstood the intention of the plugin, but for it to be useful for us the plugin should save us time - most people will associate the same values 95% of the time, so the previously chosen values could be remembered. If I need to do the same amount of work in order to create a WI, then I don't really see the value (you still need a CAL, and with the web access then there is no real time saver just having it in Outlook...). If the previous values are remembered then the argument for a properties page where this is explicitly specified is less powerful.

lorsque l'on est pas administrateur de sa machine, l'installation du VSTO ne se fait pas. A priori cette installation se fait "par utilisateur" et, comme le setup.exe demande une élévation de droits, c'est le compte administrateur qui récupère l'add-in est non le compte utilisateur. Ce n'est pas extrêmement grave puisqu'il suffit d'aller dans le dossier d'installation et double-cliquer sur le fichier .vsto, mais une petite phrase d'alerte ou un contournement serait le bien venu.

En effet, l'exécution du setup requiert les droits administrateurs si jamais les pré-requis (Framework .Net, VSTO Runtime...) ne sont pas installés car ces pré-requis nécessite les droits admin. L'application VSTO est quant à elle installée dans le cache de l'utilisateur courant.
Pour l'instant je n'ai pas la main sur le setup car il est généré automatiquement par ClickOnce. Il faudrait que je passe par un MSI pour customiser le wizard d'installation, ce qui est prévu mais pas tout de suite :)

Il y a eu en effet quelques changements depuis la version 1.5 sur le stockage des infos de TFS.
Dans le répertoire C:\Users\[login]\AppData\Roaming\OWIPlugin\ il faut supprimer ou éditer les fichiers suivants : FavoritesTeamProject.owi et FolderLinks.owi

Dans FavoritesTeamProject.owi il y a des informations telles que :
<FavoriteProject teamServerName="TfsServer\DefaultCollection" teamServerUri="http://TfsServer:8080/tfs/defaultcollection" teamProjectName="projectName" wssAlternativeAddress="http://TfsServer/sites/DefaultCollection" rServerAlternativeAddress="http://TfsServer:80/Reports_SQL2008" rServiceAlternativeAddress="" isDefault="false" />

Si l'attribut teamServerUri n'existe pas, tu peux le rajouter à la main avec la valeur de l'URI.

De la même manière dans le fichier FolderLinks.owi tu trouveras ceci :
<LinkTFS teamServer="tfsServer\DefaultCollection" teamProject="Demo" teamServerUri="http://tfsServer:8080/tfs/defaultcollection">
Vérifier que l'attribut teamServerUri existe sinon le rajouter.

Une fois les fichiers supprimés ou modifiés il faut relancer Outlook.

I have found that colon (':') and backslash ('\') both cause this feature to silently fail. No error is reported but the mail is not attached to the work item. If I edit the file name to remove these characters then the email is attached correctly.
